St James` Church In New Bradwell
Built in 1850, to replace St Peter`s Church at Stanton Low. Inside is an
arch taken from St Peter`s church, which was originally built in Norman times.
Before the railway came to Wolverton, and New Bradwell was created as a satelite town, this
area was actually known as Stantonbury... which is now the name of the next estate up the hill.
The original village of Stantonbury dates back to somewhere around the 12th Century.. and
assuming there`s anything left, I`ll be taking pics of the original church fairly soon.
