How This Place Works

Viewing The Webcams

To view the webcams here, simply click the link in the main menu marked WEBCAMS.
You will see a list of buttons... these are the webcams of some of the regular chatters here. Click the buttons with thier names, and you'll see their cams, assuming they're online.
Some of the webcams are protected by passwords. This is done to prevent certain undesirable types from viewing them. If you wish to watch one of these cams, you'll need to ask that person for the password. Ask nicely, as it is entirely at their own discretion. They don't have to let you watch if they don't want to.

If your browser is maximised and fills your whole screen, you will need to resize it to fit the cams on the screen.
Some people have their browser or Windows set up to only allow one browser on screen at once, minimising all other windows. If you have this problem, you need to tinker with your settings, either in IE or Windows.

New Visitors' Cams: Below the buttons is a tagboard designed to allow new visitors to display their cams here. If it has been used correctly by the newcomers, you should be able to view their cams by clicking on their names.

Displaying Webcams

The Software

The software used here can be downloaded from www.camarades.com. Don't worry about all the signup forms... just click on the Download link at the top of the page.
This will display your webcam on the Camarades webcam community.
Install the software, filling out the details requested by the software. The ID is whatever name you wish to use to identify your webcam, and the password is whatever you wish to be your passowrd.

Getting Your Cam Into The Webcams Menu

1: Go to the Tagboard at the bottom of the cams menu.

2: Enter your Chat Nickname in the Nickname box.

3: Enter the url of your webcam in the next box.

This will be http:// followed by the ID that you chose when installing the software followed by .ww.com/
As an example, Benway's Camarades ID is benway2, so his url is http://benway2.ww.com/
If you can't remember the ID you chose, it's displayed in big white text near the bottom of your cam software.
If you still can't figure it out, click the View Homepage button on your cam software. This will take you to your Camarades cam page, where you will find the url in the url box at the top of your browser.
(If you can't figure it out after that, ask the person who turned your pc on for you.)

4: Put a smile in the last box, eg :-)
Don't ask why. I know it seems unnecesary, but it's needed for the tagboard to work.

5: Click the Submit button.

The cams in the tagboard are temporary links and eventually get pushed off the bottom of the list. If you become a regular visitor, Benway will add a permenant button link to your cam page.

Technical Issues

If you have difficulties installing or running the cam software mentioned above, please read the instructions and help files on the Camarades website.
Benway is here purely as chat host, and has neither the time nor inclination to walk people through the software if they haven't even read the instruction.

The Camarades software and Camarades webcam community is a completely separate entitity from this chatroom. Benway claims no formal or informal connection with the Camarades webcam community. Use of the software is entirely at the end users own discretion, and subject to whatever terms Camarades see fit to apply.
